About this scheme

The BCDD Overseas Scholarship, administered by the Kerala Backward Classes Development Department, is a financial aid scheme for Other Backward Class (OBC) students. It supports postgraduate and doctoral studies in international universities, providing a maximum financial assistance of up to ₹10,00,000 to eligible students.

Eligibility

• Age limit: Must be under 40 years of age as of the 1st day of the application month
• Residency: Must be an Indian citizen and a permanent resident of Kerala
• Community: Open to OBC (Other Backward Classes) categories in Kerala
• Annual family income: Must not exceed ₹6,00,000 per annum
• Academic qualification: Bachelor's degree with minimum 60% marks or First-Class grade; overseas course must be in the same field
• Admission: Must have secured an admission letter (conditional or unconditional) from a recognized international university

• Income certificate (from Village Officer or equivalent revenue authority)

• Aadhaar card
• Kerala domicile/nativity certificate
• Passport (valid, with visa copy if available)
• Bank account details (passbook copy with IFSC and account number)
• Passport-size photographs
• No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from institution (if applicable)(optional)
